Disneyland Trip

One of the gifts to our kids this Christmas was a trip to Disneyland! They have never been and we've been trying to plan one for at least a year with my sister's family.  The timing was finally right and schedules finally worked out that we were a go!  Dave and I thought it would be fun to surprise our kids.  I bought shirts online that had Disneyland on them and had them all open them at the same time.  They were a bit stumped at first  but then we told them we were going to Disneyland. Really?!?  Such fun to tell them that and then the best part ---that we were going with all their Bunkall cousins!  Awesome!!

So on January 2nd my family (minus Makenna who was flying to California with my mom the next day), my sister Jill's family (the Bryant's), my sister Amy's family (the Roundy's) left for Las Vegas.  After driving from Omaha a week prior this seemed like a piece of cake.  We arrived in Las Vegas and headed straight for the temple.  It is a beautiful temple and we were able to walk around the temple grounds.  My family then headed to Dave's aunt Jo's house right near the temple.  We had a lovely visit with her and realized it had been at least 9 years since we had seen her.  Then it was time to meet up again with my sisters and check in the hotel and get settled before heading out for dinner.  My sister, Amy, works for Marriott and scored us a great deal at a very nice hotel.  We picked Denny's for dinner, which worked out great with all the kiddos.  Before calling it a night we made a stop at the Belagio hotel for the fountain show.  We enjoyed it so much we stayed for 2 shows.  Such fun.  All the kids kept exclaiming "Whoa" whenever the fountains got super high.  Very entertaining.
